The plane with a white bear flew to Krasnoyarsk from the north of our region.

The animal wandered around Dikson for two months, scaring the citizens and eating in the garbage.

As the representative of the Park of flora and fauna "Roev Ruchey" Oleg Chipura said, that the bear cub was probably left without a mother. Bears take care of their young  bears for three years, this bear is seemingly about a year and he wandered around the village alone. Bear ate in the garbage and hiding under the houses at night - houses in Dixon is on stilts because of the permanent frost.

- If the bear is orphaned in the first year, it is surely doomed. He will be killed either by hunters or a large male bear or by hunger. So he wandered into Dickson. Residents of the village did not like such neighborhood, a bear cub weighing about 100 kilograms, it was scary to let the children go to school", - Chipura explained.

To shoo the bear cub off  from the settlement did not come out, and the Head of the  district reported to Rosprirodnadzor at the end of September. It was decided to conduct a rescue operation - the bears of this species are listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation. Permission from Moscow was recieved on October 13. At the end of this operation the bear was lured into a container and put to sleep.

The "parcel" was sent to Norilsk, from where the bear cub flew to Krasnoyarsk. He will arrive today in Park of flora and fauna "Roev Ruchey". Specialists are seriously concerned about the health condition of the animal, because nobody knows what it was eating in Dixon, in addition, catching and transport added the stress. In the park the cub will be placed in quarantine, where it will be examined by veterinarians. If everything goes well, he will spend a month in the quarantine zone.

The fate of the animal is still unknown: it can be left in the "Roev Ruchey" or can be sent to another zoo, depending on its condition. So, veterinarians have too many questions now- for example, even the gender of the bear is unknown. If it is decided to leave it in Krasnoyarsk Park, a special enclosure for polar bears is being built at "Roev Ruchey"
