​Charitable concert «Dmitry Hvorostovsky and friends for children. In memory of Dima.»

 

A charity concert “Hvorostovsky and Friends for Children” will be held on August 26 at the Great Concert Hall of Krasnoyarsk Region Philharmonia, organised by Dmitry Hvorostovsky’s family and friends with the support of the Government and the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region. Such a concert, with such an impressive lineup will occur in Krasnoyarsk for the first time.

A little more than half a year has passed since the world lost Dmitry Hvorostovsky. A great opera singer, a man with a big heart, who was in charge of the fates of many children who need help and support. Not only the artist, but also the a philanthropist and founder of the “Dmitry Hvorostovsky and Friends for Children”project.

He created this kind and even necessary project together with his wife Florence and his friends Pavel Astakhov, Vasily and Tatiana Peganov. It is Florence Hvorostovskaya who still remains the main inspirer of the project, the idea of which was taken up by a lot of people Thanks to them it continues to exist.

For the first time the charitable concert “Hvorostovsky and friends for children” was held in 2014 in Moscow. The next one was held a year later in Ufa, where it was possible to gather more than 20 million rubles to help sick children. These concerts were organised by Dmitry, the RF Presidential Children’s Rights Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov and Rusfond.

Later on, Florence Hvorostovskaya proposed to continue this initiative in the homeland of the great baritone – Dmitry loved his native town of Krasnoyarsk for the special “Siberian spirit” that he felt there and for the breadth and freedom of his fellow countrymen.

On August 26, Dmitry Hvorostovsky’s family and friends together with the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Region and with the participation of Rusfond organise a charity concert “Hvorostovsky andFriends for Children”. It will be held in the square at the Great Concert Hall of the Regional Philharmonia, where last June, Dmitry Hvorostovsky gave his last concert in Russia.

 

Leading soloists of the world opera stages will take part in it who are also great friends of Dmitry Hvorostovsky – Ildar Abdrazakov, Khibla Gerzmava, Stephen Costello, Aigul Akhmetshina and Borislav Strulyov. The concert will be accompanied by the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, which will be conducted by Dmitry Hvorostovsky’s very close friend Constantin Orbelyan, who accompanied most of the singer’s performances.

Young talents of the Krasnoyarsk Region will also take part in the concert – soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre named after D.A. Hvorostovsky – Daria Frolova, Sevastyan Martynyuk, Denis Grechishkin, Pavel Antsiferov and students of the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Arts, which the Great Siberian singer graduated from.

During the concert, the entrance to the Mir Square (Peace Square) will be free.
