​Curling Tournament  «Siberia supports our people!» took place in Krasnoyarsk in order to support Krasnoyarsk Krai sportsmen in XXIII Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang (South Korea).

The solemn parade of participants opened this sport event. 4 Teams participated in Tournament, including representatives of  authorities, heads of regional and city administartions, famous sportsmen of Krasnoyarsk  Krai- participants of  Olympic Games, heads of Curling Federations of Siberian Federal District, representatives of the media and public unions , as well as curling athletes participating in the championship of Siberian Federal District Curling in Krasnoyarsk. U-laika – a symbol of the universiade-2019 also took part in the Tournament.

"At the  Olympic Games-2018, 20 athletes from 160 are sportsmen from Krasnoyarsk Krai. For each athlete it is important to feel the support of relatives, coaches, residents of our native region and country. We and all the regions of the Siberian Federal District with help of  the Curling Tournament "Siberia supports our people!" are sending to Krasnoyarsk Krai atheletes our sincere support, wishes of success, to give your best, keeping self-confidence and persistence in achieving your goals. With all our sports family we support all of you, we follow you and believe in each of you,", Acting Minister of Sports of  Krasnoyarsk Krai Sergei Alekseev said, after that, he gave an official start to the Tournament.

The words of support to the Olympians were performed from each team. Participants of  unusual sport action delivered touching words to  Russian athletes who are in Pyeongchang. Representatives of  teams are sure that, despite the distance, the Olympians will feel the strong support of  Siberians.

There was a bright flashmob in support of Russian Olympians before the start. 

After the flashmob the competitions began. A lot of participants  came to the professional ice to experience themselves in the Olympic curling for the first time. Teams have been competing for several hours. According to the results, «Universiade» team had won.
