Four Krasnoyarsk athletes are called to join the Russian team for preparation to the Summer Universiade-2017.

From August 19 to 30, Taipei City will host the 29th Summer Universiade-2017, held under the aegis of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Four athletes from the Krasnoyarsk Region are called to join the Russian team.
Sergey Mitusov, trainee of Enisey basketball club’s school, player of Krasnoyarsk basketball team Enisey, student of the Siberian State University of Science and Technology named after M. F. Reshetnev is called to join the student men's basketball team. In early August the Russian team went to the training camp in Vladivostok. It should be noted that Sergey will continue playing for the first team of the club in the season of 2017/2018. In the past game year, Sergei took the basketball court in 10 games of the regular championships of the VTB United League. On average, the basketball player had 6 game minutes in these games.

Students of the Siberian State University and swimmers of the “Summer Sports Academy” Andrey Arbuzov and Arina Openysheva were also called to join the national team.

Player of BC Enisey women's team Natalia Malykh is called to join the national student women's volleyball team. Now the young lady is in the training camp in Odintsovo near Moscow.

We note that the Krasnoyarsk Region, as part of the Russian delegation at the Summer Universiade-2017, will be represented not only by athletes. The coaching staff of the Russian swimming team includes Zelenogorsk specialist Vladimir Avdeev, who prepared the Honored Master of Sports and Olympic champion Yuri Mukhin.

By tradition, Russian delegation will be one of the most numerous at the Summer Universiade-2017. In total it numbers 517 people – 348 athletes, and also 169 coaches, doctors and officials. 12000 athletes from 160 countries will participate in the competitions. Students, postgraduates and graduates in the age of 17 to 28, who graduated right before the Universiade, are allowed to participate. The program of the Universiade includes competitions in 21 types of sports: badminton, basketball, baseball, water polo, volleyball, golf, judo, athletics, table tennis, swimming, diving, roller sports, gymnastics, archery, tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting, wushu, fencing, football, gymnastics.
