​Krasnoyarsk students became the winners of the International Engineering Championship

Student teams of the Siberian Federal University (SFU) became winners and prize-winners of the V International Engineering Championship "Case-in", having offered the best solutions of technological cases developed by high-tech companies and enterprises of Russia.

The Championship was held in five categories: Mining, Geological Exploration, Power Utilities, Oil and Gas Business and Metallurgy. The winner in the Oil and Gas Business category was the team "Nota benе", which included students of SFU Marina Vnukova, Vyacheslav Kotovschikov, Igor Trofimov and Varvara Cheremisina. In addition, in the Power Engineering category the third place was taken by the team "Young Energy".

In 2017 more than 3,500 students from 48 specialized universities of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took part in the International Engineering Championship "Case-in".

According to the organizers, the purpose of the competition is to identify and support promising students, as well as to build up practical knowledge, experience and competence in the field of engineering. It should be noted that the winners of the championship are included in the personnel reserve of fuel-energy and mineral-raw materials complexes and will participate in specialized summer educational programs.

The International Engineering Championship "Case-in" is the largest practice-oriented competition among students of engineering specialties in Russia and CIS countries devoted to solving engineering cases.

The organizers of the championship are the "Nadyozhnaya smena" ("Dependable successors") Foundation and the non-commercial partnership "Youth Forum of Mining Leaders".

The championship is held in the format of onsite competition: the teams solve practical problems based on the real industrial problems of the enterprises. Participants' proposals are evaluated by an expert commission with the participation of representatives of government authorities, leading companies, universities and scientific and educational centers of Russia.
