World-class experts will be conducting research on the power supply and the state of environment in Krasnoyarsk at the end of March

The visit of the delegation of experts of the international APEC Low Carbon Model Town Project to Krasnoyarsk is scheduled for the end of March this year. During the visit, experts will carry out research on the rower supply system of the city, will visit a number of enterprises and will monitor the status of the urban environment based on various indicators. The realization of the project will provide Krasnoyarsk with recommendations on introduction of low carbon technologies in the regional center.

As we have already informed, last spring Krasnoyarsk was visited by international experts of the Asia-Pacific Energy Research Center (APERC) from Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Japan.  At the meeting with the Mayor of the city, Edkham Akbulatov, was discussed the significance of the realization of the Low Carbon Model Town Project, including its effect on the reduction of the emissions into the atmosphere. The Mayor gave instructions to prepare the application of the city of Krasnoyarsk for the APEC low carbon cities development program, noting that the expert review would help to find new solutions to the ecological problems of the regional center.

The 52nd meeting of the APEC Energy Working Group was held in Moscow from 17 to 21 October. At this meeting Krasnoyarsk was declared the winner of the 7th phase of the Low Carbon Model Town Project. Thus, Krasnoyarsk, together with Nikken Sekkei, received an opportunity to implement this environmental project.

The grant was awarded at the Philippines in the city of Mandaue, which had won the previous grant in 2015. Russia was represented by the Director of OOO "Krasnoyarsk-City" ("Preobrazhensky" micro-district developer), Pyotr Golub. Long-term cooperation of the micro-district developer and Nikken Sekkei architectural bureau was one of the key points of Krasnoyarsk's application for the participation in the project. And in December, the rolling grant of € 600,000 was awarded. The funding provided will enable Nikken Sekkei specialists in 2017, the year of the Environment, to conduct the research work and prepare a report. On the basis of this report, recommendations will be made on the improvement of the environmental situation and logistics in the city.

Several days ago, the Mayor of the city, Edkham Akbulatov, held a video conference with the representatives of the Japanese company Nikken Sekkei, during which were discussed the phases of the project and the organization of the forthcoming visit of the delegation.
