The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Culture Natalia Gelrud and Consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Irkutsk Jo Geun Hee.
The Krasnoyarsk Region and the Republic of Korea are connected by many years of successful cooperation in the field of musical, visual, theatrical and film arts. Over the years of interaction, Korean musicians have many times taken part in events significant for the Krasnoyarsk Region: the Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of the Asia-Pacific Region, the International Festival of Ethnic Music and Crafts “WORLD of Siberia”, Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition and many others.Natalia Gelrud, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region
Every year, cooperation is developing and is replenished with cultural exchanges that contribute to the establishment of mutual understanding between countries. One of the most successful events was the “Korean Film Festival”, dedicated to the “Year of Mutual Exchange between the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation”, announced in 2021. Krasnoyarsk audience had a chance to see modern Korean movies and get acquainted with the culture of Korea in general.
Participants of the meeting agreed to further strengthen ties and build strong intercultural dialogue. Natalia Gelrud invited the Korean talents to participate in the upcoming large-scale regional cultural events:
- III International Film Festival for Youth “Hero”;
- International Festival of Ethnic Music and Crafts “WORLD of Siberia”;
- Festival of Male Choirs;
- Krasnoyarsk Arts Festival "Hvorostovsky";
- IV Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition.
