Concerts will be held in the cities of Krasnoyarsk, Divnogorsk and Zelenogorsk until February 11. The Festival is dedicated to the work of the legendary Soviet composer Dmitri Shostakovich and the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade.

Some of the artists participating are: the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, the State Borodin Quartet and the St. Petersburg's Divertissement Chamber Orchestra, as well as violinists Ilya Ioff and Lydia Kovalenko.

The Divertissement Chamber Orchestra will perform one of Shostakovich's most famous works – String Quartet No. 8 in C minor arranged for string orchestra. The composer himself liked the arrangement done by Rudolf Barshai, which then took its place in the complete list of works under the name "Chamber Symphony". It is dedicated to the memory of the victims of war and fascism. The programme of the Festival also includes Dmitri Shostakovich's last work – Sonata for viola and piano, arranged for viola and string orchestra.
