The 2024 Winter Surikov Art Festival will be taking place from January 12 through 24; this year's programme includes a variety of events – almost forty of them in total!

The Festival starts this Friday. On this day, the "Surikovsky bus" will depart from the railway station at 12:00. Its new feature will be an audio guide for its passengers right inside the vehicle. At the end of the route in the village of Torgashino the guests will be led to a walking tour by an employee of the V.I. Surikov Museum-Estate.

On January 13, the Museum-Estate will celebrate the Old New Year in accordance with the traditions of past centuries. The organisers promise lectures on the history of the holiday, master classes on creating New Year's masks and celebratory games.

2024 marks the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, whereas 2023 was celebrated as the 175th anniversary of the birth of the renowned artist Vasily Surikov. The Surikov Festival will unite the work of two geniuses. For example, several restaurants in the city will have a special "Two Geniuses" menu, so that the guests will be able to try some of the favourite dishes of the two.

Following the already established tradition, the city will host concerts of young musicians, who will be playing Surikov's favorite piano and guitar.

The Krasnoyarsk Festival "Magic Ice of Siberia" will make its long-awaited return during the Festival. Starting January 13, teams of young sculptors will create their own compositions from ice. They will be located on Yaryginskaya embankment.

On January 22, the city will host an art flash mob "Krasnoyarsk draws Surikov." Krasnoyarsk residents, together with art students, will create replicas of one of the paintings of the great painter.

The festival will end with the "Two Geniuses" concert.
