Governor Alexander Uss arrived on a working visit to the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan Astana. The head of the Region held a number of business meetings as part of the delegation from the Krasnoyarsk Region.


With the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, Alexander Uss discussed the increase in mutual trade.

According to the head of the Region, relations between the Krasnoyarsk Region and Kazakhstan are developing successfully. Today, about two hundred of our regional companies carry out export and import operations with the republic. During the first half of this year, the region's foreign trade turnover with Kazakhstan increased by almost 80% compared to the same period last year and amounted to over $75 million.

The Krasnoyarsk Region is ready to export grain crops, flour products, wild plants, as well as woodworking products, lumber, pellets, wooden house kits, mining and processing equipment to Kazakhstan. In turn, the Region is interested in importing vegetables and fruits, meat products, agricultural machinery and spare parts, woodworking equipment from the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting with Akim of the Akmolynsky Region Yermek Marzhikpayev, Alexander Uss discussed the international exchange of scientific and technical knowledge and modern technologies, as well as the use of the Region's capabilities as a transport and logistics hub, and the development of tourism:

— For the business of the Akmolynsky Region, Krasnoyarsk could become a convenient transport and logistics hub for transporting goods across Russia. In addition, we are also interested in joint projects in the tourism sector, because your region is one of the top five tourist areas in Kazakhstan, and the leisure and tourism industry is one of the priority sectors. In recent years, the Krasnoyarsk Region has been paying special attention to the development of this field too, creating more and more places of attraction for guests from the regions of Russia and other countries.

The Governor also held meetings with business circles of the republic. Within the walls of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), the head of the Region discussed cooperation and involvement of entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan in joint projects with the leadership of the AIFC. The parties identified promising areas for cooperation - the forestry industry, reforestation, and ecology.

To the leadership of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Governor presented investment potential of the Region, including the opportunities of the "Yenisey Siberia". The parties paid special attention to joint projects in the agricultural, space and forestry sectors.

This year, the Krasnoyarsk City Administration signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the city of Kokshetau of the Republic of Kazakhstan.​
