05.07.2022A large-scale festival of historical reconstruction "Yenisei Outpost" was held for the first time in the Krasnoyarsk Region. The festival was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Yenisei Province. More than 200 reenactors from Krasnoyarsk, Altai, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Omsk, Sverdlovsk regions and from Moscow gathered in the village Yelovoye, Yemelyanovsky district.
The fact that whole families came here to spend their day off is very important and even symbolic, because both children and adults should know our history. And where else can they see it so clearly, if not at a historical reconstruction festival? We have never before had an event of this type and this scale in the Krasnoyarsk Region. We have here people who are passionate about reconstruction from almost all regions of Siberia and the Urals, and, most importantly, they brought unique equipment - cars, armored cars, both Russian and German, some of which were produced before the Second World War.

The idea of holding the Festival was supported by the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region and timed to coincide with the celebration of the Yenisei Province anniversary.
The territory of the festival was divided into several topical locations, visiting which the guests could plunge into the culture and atmosphere of the life of the Cossacks or soldiers in the front line. At the festival, the audience was presented with three periods of the history of Russia: the conquest of Siberia by the Cossacks, the Patriotic War of 1812 and the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.
The site "Exploration of Siberia (XVI - XVII centuries)" offered a bladed weapons master class, an exhibition of historical buildings models and master classes in the manufacturing of traditional textile products.
On the site "Patriotic War of 1812" the guests took part in a quiz, a master class on historical dances, listened to a lecture on the life and leisure of the Krasnoyarsk merchants and witnessed a large-scale battle reconstruction - the Battle of Saltanovka.
On the site "Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" the guests had a chance to see the models of weapons and ammunition and watch theatrical performances.
The recreated surroundings of the war years gave a special spirit to the location. The festival ended with a large-scale reconstruction of one of the Great Patriotic War battles - the Battle of Rzhev.
