Before the start of the contest, Yamato Seo, Senior Lecturer of the Japanese Centre of SibFU, addressed the children with a welcoming speech and wished them good luck in Japanese. From him, the participants learned that the Japanese believe KitKat chocolate helps them win, since its name is consonant with the Japanese phrase "kitto katto", which means "I will definitely win."

The results of the Olympiad will be posted on the website of the Centre, and the winners will receive Japanese souvenirs.
