​Alexander Tretyakov won two medals at the IBSF World Championships, taking place in Altenberg, Germany. The athlete of the Academy of Winter Sports came second in individual races. Tretyakov lost only to the owner of the track Christopher Grothger, who defended the world title.

Tretyakov ascended the victory stand of the World Cup in personal races for the sixth time in his career. Previously, he once was the world champion (2013), three times the silver medalist (2011, 2015, 2016) and once won bronze (2009). In terms of the total number of medals in the history of the World Cup, Alexander came in third place, behind only the Swiss Gregor Stähli and the Latvian Martins Dukurs.

The Russian national figure skating team will take part in an Olympic training camp in Krasnoyarsk. The intent was expressed by the country's figure skating federation. According to the Minister of Sports of the Krasnoyarsk Region Pavel Rostovtsev, the desire was facilitated by our shared time zone with Beijing and the ready infrastructure of local ice arenas «Crystal» and «Platinum».

«I hope, when our figure skating athletes perform successfully, we will be able to say that these medals have a little bit of Krasnoyarsk in them.» 

The figure skating federation made its decision after the completion of the Russian championships held in Krasnoyarsk from February 3 to 5. The remarkable good organisation of the competition was noted at the highest level.

The Chairman of the Regional Government Yuri Lapshin held a meeting on preparations for the Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Junior Championships in Krasnoyarsk. The major international competition will be taking place on March 15-28 in the Sopka cluster. According to Pavel Rostovtsev, the programme of the event includes competitions in two sports - freestyle skiing and snowboarding.

«We will make the final decision at the end of February, when the dynamics of the epidemiological situation will be a lot clearer. But for now, the dynamic is such that in March, we will probably be able to host the world championships with full stands out in the open, provided full-on masks support. Since we are holding this event not only to strengthen the sports reputation of the Krasnoyarsk Region, but primarily for our citizens, spectators, in order to cultivate these sports and a generally healthy lifestyle,» – the Chairman Lapshin emphasised.
