​In Berlin (Germany), the finale of the 17th International Dance Olympus Dance Festival competition with the participation of a total of 1700 people from 36 countries took place.

The International Dance Olympus Festival is held in Berlin annually, as one of the most professional and high-level international competitions held under the auspices of the Senate for Science, Education and Culture and the Mayor of Berlin, as well as the Berlin State Ballet and company director Vladimir Malakhov. 

The festival events include competitive performances, an exchange of experience between team leaders, master classes from professional teachers, joint performances by contestants with stars of the world stage.

The main goal of the festival is to support and encourage choreographic creativity, cultivate artistic and aesthetic taste, as well as international exchange of creative achievements in the field of choreography and dance. The concerts participants are winners of the past, last year’s victors, soloists of the Berlin State Ballet and the world stage stars.

The Souvenir folk dance ensemble of the municipal budgetary educational institution of further education Children’s Creative Centre №4 was invited specifically for the Finals of this competition, bypassing all the qualifying stages. In April 2019, in Krasnoyarsk, the ensemble became the Laureate of the Mikhail Godenko All-Russian Competition among Choreographic Groups. The invitation to Berlin was presented by the director of the Dance Olympus competition.

Within the entire Folk dance nomination, the Souvenir ensemble took 1st place in the middle age category and 2nd place in the senior age category, overpassing dance bands from all around the world.

It is important to emphasise that all participants in the finals of the Dance Olympus competition-festival are undergoing the most rigorous selection process, so the victory in this competition is particularly notable as a testament of the level of professionalism and talent of teachers and young dancers.
