We understand what a huge and significant work we should do on the stage of our application campaign’s realization and, moreover on the stage of competition’s preparation.  I would like to pay your attention to a momentous fact in the history of our city.  There was 100 year anniversary of a Krasnoyarsk’s sport life in a February 2012.  A first official physical culture movement was founded in our city on the 16th of February 1912.
 

Now, a hundred years later, a regional center is a symbol of bright victories in biathlon, bandy and freestyle wrestling. The names of such Olympic champions as Ivan Yarygin, Buvaysar and Adam Saytievs, Olga Medvedtseva, Evgeniy Ustyugov and many others are world-known. The sport’s spirit of Krasnoyarsk is really great: Olympic medals came in Krasnoyarsk for 32 times!

Undoubtedly, the carrying out of the World Student Games will become a new stage of Krasnoyarsk’s sport life and the whole city society’s development. Moreover, we’ll do our best to make the Universiade 2019 a bright stage of a whole world student sport’s development. All the more, this project has a support from the country’s authorities. So, we realize the level of our responsibility.

Now we should decide what the ideas and the premises we will use in our application campaign. We understand: there will be many serious competitors. But exactly our city and our region have some undisputable advantages. Krasnoyarsk region is a center of Russia and the second biggest federal subject. It is a region of huge spaces and different climate zones. There is a unique nature reservation “Stolby” on the territory of the city. It includes a forest area, beautiful rocks and rivers. Just imagine: the territory of reservation is more than 47 thousands hectares! So, Krasnoyarsk has many features, which distinguish our city from all the others. And above all – we should unite right now and prove that we are ready for the struggle and we deserve to win. Like the all real Siberians we are not afraid of any difficulties and we are not going to retreat!
