​Monument in honor of the outstanding metallurgical engineer Alexander Nikolaevich Kuznetsov solemnly opened in Krasnoyarsk.

Today, the monument in honor of the founder and the first director of the Krasnoyarsk Metallurgical Plant, an honorary citizen of the Krasnoyarsk Krai and Krasnoyarsk, a participant of the Great Patriotic War Alexander Nikolaevich Kuznetsov was opened in the park near the Palace of Labor and Reconciliation.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin, honored guests, veterans, schoolchildren, students and residents.

Addressing to the participants of the ceremony, Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin recalled the words of countryman Viktor Petrovich Astafyev, who very accurately characterized Alexander Nikolayevich Kuznetsov: “He called him an “practacal intellectual”. This man combined in himself the gift of management and a great inner culture. Of course, I support the decision to create the memorial avenue here. This will be the new incarnation of the history of the city. The younger generation should know who created our industry and developed Krasnoyarsk”.

Alexander Kuznetsov improved not only the lives of the plant workers, but also the city as a whole. A lot of houses, social, sports and leisure facilities were constructed  under his leadership.

The event was held in kind atmosphere. Friends and colleagues shared their memories about Alexander Kuznetsov.

The solemn part of the ceremony ended with the laying of flowers at the foot of the monument.

The bronze figure of Alexander Nikolaevich Kuznetsov is made in full growth in a business suit with the medal of the  Hero of Socialist Labour on his jacket.

Alexander Nikolaevich Kuznetsov is a unique person who left a bright mark on the history of the metallurgical industry in Krasnoyarsk and  Russia. He was a candidate of technical sciences, an honored worker of industry of the USSR, the largest organizer of production and scientific research in the field of aviation metallurgy.
