​In August Krasnoyarsk holds the FISU Forum, the third test event of the Winter Universiade 2019

Krasnoyarsk will host the FISU Forum, the third test event of the Winter Universiade 2019, between August 6 and 10. It is a premiere educational conference which is regularly held by FISU. The theme of the Forum this year is Student Sport — Springboard for Innovative Leadership.

The FISU Forum is one of the major educational events which is conducted under the auspices of FISU every two years in different countries of the world. The Forum is aimed at popularization of the ideas of youth sports, strengthening of international cooperation and supporting of student projects in this field.

Participants of the FISU Forum in Krasnoyarsk will become students from different countries, as well as the representatives of the National University Sports Federation (NUSF), members of the world scientific community and well-known experts in the field of student sports and education. Students of the Siberian Federal University (SibFU) will also take part in the Forum as part of the Russian delegation.

Students, sports leaders and specialists interested in the development of sports will discuss issues related to the student sports movement, education, medicine, ethics and culture of sport behavior on the territory of the future Universiade Village and SibFU. In addition, within the framework of the Forum, traditionally there will be held meetings of three FISU committees: Educational Committee, Students Committee and Committee for Gender Equality. It is expected that in total about 200 people from more than 40 countries will take part in the event.

Alexey Moshkin, two-time gold medalist of the Paralympic Games in Alpine skiing, will become the speaker of the educational session and will give a lecture on equal opportunities in sports.

The representatives of FISU and foreign sports associations will help the Forum participants to develop and protect their own projects aimed at developing and popularization of sports among young people.

The FISU Forum will also be a test platform for a number of activities of the Winter Universiade 2019 OC: the quality of transportation, accreditation services, catering, cultural, sports programmes and much more will be assessed. In addition, during the international conference there will be checked the readiness of the Universiade Village to meet the future participants of the Games. It is planned to recruit at least 200 volunteers of the Winter Universiade-2019 for the organization of the Forum.
