The Slovak sister-city Žilina adopts one of good practices of Krasnoyarsk

In Krasnoyarsk, for the third time, a video meeting was held with the representatives of the city of Žilina (Slovakia). This year the cities congratulated each other with musical Christmas cards. At the beginning of the already traditional online meeting, greetings were made by the representative of the city of Žilina administration: Vice-Mayor Patrick Grom congratulated everyone in Russian. Yarna school Principal Yan Kotman was glad to see and talk with already familiar to him Krasnoyarsk residents. On behalf of Krasnoyarsk, the Slovak city was greeted by the Head of the International affairs division of Mayor's department Inna Dozortseva, director of the Creativity center No. 3, Honored Teacher of Russia Nikolay Bolsunovsky and a member of the Children's Council for the organization of the International charitable festival of creativity "Children for Children" Sofya Petrunko.

While last year children's art groups from Krasnoyarsk introduced Slovak pupils to Russian Christmas traditions, this year the choral studio "Solovushka" performed New Year songs. Žilina children also enjoyed the "Valenki" performance by the representative of the variety-circus studio "Nadezhda", and the most bright and colorful was the performance of the younger group of the National choreographic ensemble "Armenia" (ensemble director - Georgy Melkonyan).

Our friends from Žilina, the folklore group "Tsipovichka" and the kids from Yarna school, introduced Krasnoyarsk children to the traditions of their country, showed their dances and sang Slovak Christmas songs.

"These days, people have many opportunities to meet. The video conversation between the two sister-cities Žilina and Krasnoyarsk is a good example. Children from two distant cities in different countries could communicate and get to know each other's lives. We are grateful to our Krasnoyarsk friends for such a wonderful idea," said Mayor of Žilina Igor Khoma.

"One of the most difficult arts is the art of creating relationships: with this world, with friends, with yourself. Children from the cities of Žilina and Krasnoyarsk learn this art through joint creativity, charity and communication. We are sure that creative cooperation and warm relations between children from different countries will make this world better and kinder," - said the director of the Creativity center No. 3, Honored Teacher of Russia Nikolai Bolsunovsky.

Participants of the video meeting expressed hope that the Krasnoyarsk practice of holding the festival "Children for Children" will spread to the city of Žilina and a hope that a similar festival would be held in the Slovak city.

It should be noted that the event was held with the support of the Information Center for Atomic Energy in Krasnoyarsk and the International affairs division of the Krasnoyarsk City Administration.
