30.10.2026Krasnoyarsk delegates visited Mongolia to take part in events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Russian House in Ulaanbaatar and the 105th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mongolia. The activities provided an opportunity for the Krasnoyarsk delegation to speak with a number of Mongolian institutions and outline joint projects for 2027 and 2028.

Gala evening dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Russian House became the central event for the guests, combining the finale of the "Songolt-2026" exhibition—featuring 14 leading Russian universities—with the opening of a historical photo exhibition and a grand concert. The Krasnoyarsk Wind Orchestra, soloists from the Mongolian State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, and various performance groups from the Russian House took the stage that evening. Among the evening's guests of honor were Andrey Ivakhin, Minister-Counselor at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mongolia, and the first Mongolian cosmonaut, Jügderdemidiin Gürragchaa.
Another equally important aspect of the visit focused on cooperation between schools. The delegation visited School No. 23, where they were welcomed with a traditional bread karavay and songs. This meeting served as a continuation of an existing connection: in June 2026, students and teachers from this school had participated in a Summer School programme organized in collaboration with the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University.

The discussion on educational and cultural matters continued at the Ulaanbaatar City Hall, where a meeting was held with Mr. G. Anar, Head of the Department of External Relations, and Mr. G. Batdorj, Head of the Department of Culture and Arts. The Krasnoyarsk delegation presented several international cultural projects and invited their Mongolian counterparts to participate. Particular attention was given to initiatives by the Russian Academy of Arts, including the presentation of the album "Khalkhin Gol – The Key to Victory!"—dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the victory over militarist Japan—and the organization of an exhibition in Ulaanbaatar featuring graphic works from the Siberian School of Xylography. The exhibition is timed to coincide with the 85th birthday of the school's founder, German Pashtov—a People's Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, professor, and recipient of numerous prestigious awards.
This art-oriented initiative also found resonance at the "Mongeni" private school, which hosted a meeting with the calligrapher and artist E. Ariunbold, founder of the Titem-Art Academy of Art and Culture. The Mongolian side proposed signing a memorandum of cooperation between "Mongeni" and the V. I. Surikov Children's Art School No. 1, which would include joint painting sessions, student and teacher exchanges, collaborative exhibitions etc.
Negotiations were also held with other Mongolian organizations. With Mr. T. Budsuren, Director of "Mongolkino," the possibility of a Mongolian film festival—to be hosted in the cities of Ulan-Ude and Krasnoyarsk in 2027—was discussed. Furthermore, an agreement was reached with Mr. A. Soninbayar, Chairman of the Union of Mongolian Artists, regarding an exchange of exhibitions: in 2027, to mark the 85th anniversary of the Union of Mongolian Artists, an exhibition of works by Mongolian artists will be held in Krasnoyarsk, while in 2028, an exhibition of works by artists from Krasnoyarsk will take place in Mongolia in honor of the city's 400th anniversary.

Marking the end of the visit, Lyubov Sakharova, Head of the Main Department of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk City Administration, noted:
— The invitation to the anniversary of the Russian House in Ulaanbaatar offered us more than just a chance to take part in the celebrations; it provided a genuine opportunity to establish connections with a wide range of Mongolian institutions—from schools and the conservatory to the city administration and the Artists' Union. We witnessed a sincere interest among our Mongolian colleagues in collaborating with Krasnoyarsk, and we are confident that by 2027–2028, our joint cultural and educational projects will become a reality.

The Agreement on trade-economic, scientific-technical, and cultural cooperation between the cities of Krasnoyarsk and Ulaanbaatar was signed in 2003. Since 2022, cooperation with Mongolia has intensified significantly. During this period, a total of five summer and winter schools have been held with the participation of Mongolian students; in 2025 and 2026, Mongolian sculptors took part in the "Magic Ice of Siberia" Festival; in September, the Mongolian group "Aeten" gave a successful performance at the "Asia – Siberia – Europe" Music Festival in Krasnoyarsk. Every year, Mongolian school students participate in Krasnoyarsk-based projects—such as the "Eco-Tales of Roev Ruchey" Environmental Festival and the "Star of the Arctic – Umka" Literary Competition.
