From November 2 to 8, Krasnoyarsk residents and guests alike can look forward to an entire schedule full of events celebrating the cultures, traditions, and creativity of the peoples of Russia. The "Unity Week" is organized by the Zerkalo Youth Centre.

Activities to look forward to include: workshops on creating lamps shaped like Tyvan tents named chums hosted by representatives of the indigenous peoples of the North; a session on creating ethnic-themed collages; on National Unity Day—November 4—guests will have the opportunity to decorate nalichniki (traditional ornate window frame carvings).

Among other exciting events are workshops on making an Evenki hair ornament—a nakosnitsa, or free long nardy lessons hosted by the "Urartu" Armenian Student Union.

The main event of the celebratory week is the celebration of National Unity Day. The venue will host workshops organized by various ethnic associations, including the Tatar group "Kyzyl Yar," the Buryat group "Altan Gerel," the SFU Peoples's Friendship Centre, and the Khakass community "Khada." Guests will have the opportunity to engage with the cultures of these peoples through their arts, crafts, and creative traditions.

Unity Week will conclude with the Grand Ethnographic Dictation, which will take place on November 8. Participants will test their knowledge of the traditions, customs, and culture of the peoples of our multinational Russia.
