13.10.2026"Days of Siberia" were held in the city of Fergana as part of the 3rd Council of Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan. The event's primary goal was to expand trade and economic ties between the regions of the two countries, promote Siberian products in the Uzbek market, and showcase the educational potential of the Krasnoyarsk Region.

Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Mikhail Kotyukov, heading the region's delegation, held working meetings with representatives of the Fergana, Namangan, and Surkhandarya regions and signed a number of cooperation agreements with the governors of Uzbekistan.
Our region sent the largest business delegation among the participants, comprising 12 companies from sectors such as transport, mechanical engineering, wood processing, packaging manufacturing, and digital technologies. On the first day, delegates visited major enterprises and a business matchmaking event at the Fergana Expo International Exhibition Centre. A dedicated segment was devoted to showcasing the capabilities of higher education institutions; educational programmes were presented by our Reshetnev Technical University, Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University, and Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University.
Mikhail Kotyukov emphasized the importance of the region's relationship with Uzbekistan:
— The Krasnoyarsk Region boasts long-standing friendly relations with the regions of Uzbekistan; the first agreement with the Fergana Region was signed back in 1994. Over the past three decades, ties in the economy, educational, culture, and youth project sectors have only grown stronger. The volume of mutual trade with Uzbekistan's regions is rising noticeably year by year, yet the potential remains far greater. We possess robust industrial and agricultural bases, strong universities, and practical proposals that we can develop together. I see great potential in tourism: reciprocal travel—Siberians visiting Uzbekistan and residents of the Republic visiting Siberia—will enrich our cooperation. I also look forward to joint youth projects, such as the exchange of delegations between summer youth camps.
