Authentic masterpieces from the collections of The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts have been brought to the regional capital.

The exhibition "The Art of Impression: Impressionism" has finally found its way to the "Ploschad Mira" Museum Centre in Krasnoyarsk. The year-long Siberian tour of the Impressionist collection began in December 2025. Exhibitions have already been successfully wrapped up in Kemerovo, Abakan, Omsk, and Novosibirsk. Krasnoyarsk will be the fifth stop for this large-scale project. The core of the exhibition features works by Camille Corot, Alfred Sisley, and Henri Matisse.

"Ploshchad Mira" will complement the main exhibition with its own unique "Taiga Gallery"—works by Krasnoyarsk artists that engage in a dialogue with French innovators. Visitors will see pieces by Andrey Pozdeev, Nikolai Rybakov, Viktor Sachivko, and Andrey Isaenkov. The exhibition will also feature paintings by Russian contemporaries of the Impressionists—such as Konstantin Korovin, Robert Falk, and David Shterenberg—who made pilgrimages to Paris. A special place will be reserved for Vasily Surikov's Portrait of Lenochka, painted during the artist's late period.

In addition to paintings, the display will feature items from the professional toolkit of 19th-century artists—such as ready-made paint sets in tubes, compac​t sketching boxes, stretcher bars, and canvases—all of which spurred experimentation with technique and plein air painting.
