​The grand opening took place in the Small Concert Hall of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic Society. That evening, the stage was taken by renowned musician, conductor, and artistic director of the St.Petersburg Music Hall Theatre, Fabio Mastrangelo, and a distinguished Russian multi-instrumentalist Arkady Shilkloper, joined by the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra.

Before the beginning of the event, Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergey Vereshchagin congratulated the audience, organisers, and musicians on this true celebration of art:

— The Asia-Siberia-Europe Festival is a cultural landmark for the Krasnoyarsk Region and its capital. We are delighted to welcome our guests to Siberia, in the very heart of Russia. This year, we will feature performances from five countries. Thank you to our Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra for being the driving force behind this Festival for so many years!

The opening concert programme combined music from Italy, Hungary, Austria, and Russia. The first half of the performance featured Gioachino Rossini's overture to Italiana in Algeri, as well as Leopold Mozart's Sinfonia Pastorale and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony No. 33. The audience also enjoyed the Krasnoyarsk premiere of contemporary composer Alexander Rosenblatt's Concertino 13, performed on the alpenhorn by virtuoso and multi-instrumentalist Arkady Shilkloper and the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra.

The musician brought to Krasnoyarsk four instruments: his alpenhorn, corno pastoriccio, corno, and flugelhorn. All of them will also be featured in the concert to be performed with the distinguished organist Marianna Vysotskaya.

— Every year the Festival programme is distinct from one another. We pride ourselves on our soloists and conductors, who come and perform in a variety of roles. This creates a truly diverse programme. Our main principle is to introduce our audience to music from different countries, music that has never been performed in Krasnoyarsk before, – explained Larisa Markosyan, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and Director of the Asia-Siberia-Europe International Chamber and Orchestral Music Festival.

This season, the Esimde String Quartet from Kyrgyzstan will perform in Krasnoyarsk for the first time. As part of their solo performance, the musicians will present world premieres of works by Nargiza Kurmanova: "Fantasy on the Themes of Ancient Kyrgyz Folk Melodies" and "Taitoru." At the second concert, Esimde, together with the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra under the direction of maestro Mikhail Benyumov, will perform the world premiere of the Concerto piece for cello and orchestra, as well as works by Tchaikovsky, Elgar, and the classic Kyrgyz composer Kalii Moldobasanov.

Turkish harpist Cagatay Akyol and virtuoso mouth organist Sheng Wu Wei will also be performing at the Festival. The programme includes six concerts in total. The 24th Asia-Siberia-Europe Chamber and Orchestral Music Festival runs until September 15.
