02.09.2026On September 1, the school year in the Krasnoyarsk Region began for 360,000 school students, approximately 144,000 university students, and 128,000 preschoolers. 31,000 first-graders will sit at their desks for the first time, 13,500 of whom are in Krasnoyarsk alone. Knowledge Day in all schools across the country begins with a class hour called "Conversations on Important Topics," dedicated to the unity of the peoples of Russia, the preservation of historical memory, etc.

The assembly traditionally opens with the ceremony of carrying out and raising the Russian State Flag and the performance of the anthem.
The city's main clock tower congratulated Krasnoyarsk residents on Knowledge Day. The melody "Чему учат в школе?" (What Is Taught At School?) was played every three hours in Theatre Square.
Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergey Vereshchagin posted school photos with his sons on his Telegram channel. The mayor, a father of four, admitted that all the school related decisions always fell on his wife's shoulders.
Themed festive events took place throughout the city. The National Centre "Russia" hosted the "Path Along the River of Knowledge" programme, which included science labs from the Umka Centre, as well as calligraphy, photography, and mandala-making workshops, bubble show, and quizzes. Royev Ruchey Park celebrated Knowledge Day with the "Smartest Boys and Smartest Girls" quest and a science show. Theatres and concert halls dedicated the day to children's performances and plays.
