Athlete Varvara Mikheeva wins prize at the World Climbing Europe Youth Series

The young athlete from the Krasnoyarsk Region competed in the Speed Climbing event of the World Climbing Europe Youth Series, which concluded in St. Pölten, Austria.
The Krasnoyarsk native competed in the 15-16 age category and placed among the top three. She finished fourth out of 25 competitors in the qualifying round. This marks Varvara Mikheeva's first international success. Originally, she debuted as a professional athlete in July at the World Championships, where she qualified for the top 16. The climber is a graduate of the V. Putintsev Olympic Reserve School in Krasnoyarsk and an athlete at the Krasnoyarsk Winter Sports Academy.
Krasnoyarsk team wins International Racquet Sports Tournament

Krasnoyarsk athletes won the overall team title at the International Racquet Sports Tournament taking place at the sports facilities of the Krasnoyarsk College of Olympic Reserve.
The competition brought together 37 athletes from China and Russia in Krasnoyarsk. Our country was represented by teams from Krasnoyarsk, Moscow and the Moscow Region, and Kaliningrad. Medals were awarded in tennis, padel, beach tennis, and pickleball. The overall team winner and runners-up were determined by the combined results across all disciplines. First place went to Krasnoyarsk. Second place went to the international "China" team, comprised of athletes from both Russia and China. Rounding out the top three was the "BAMOS 1" team from Moscow.
Athlete Vladimir Zhukov wins medal at 2026 Asian Taekwondo Championships

Vladimir Zhukov, an athlete from the Krasnoyarsk Region, won a medal at the Asian Taekwondo Championships. The event took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The Krasnoyarsk martial arts school representative competed in three matches, winning two of them and taking bronze in the 64 kg weight class. First place went to Song Kang of North Korea. The silver and bronze medals went to Makoto Oshima and Yuki Okano of Japan, respectively.
Judoka Pavel Selivanov crowned the European Champion of Para Judo

Pavel Selivanov, an athlete from the Krasnoyarsk Centre for Adaptive Sports, won a gold medal at the 2026 IBSA Judo European Championships. 119 athletes from 23 countries participated in the competition in Heidelberg, Germany.
The Krasnoyarsk judoka won in the 95 kg weight category. He first defeated his opponent from Moldova, the legendary Paralympic champion Oleg Crețul. Then, in the semifinals, he defeated Sweden's Oscar Widegren, and in the final, won the duel with the reigning European champion, Daniel Powell of Great Britain.
Krasnoyarsk native Maria Medvedeva becomes a six-time world wushu champion

The Krasnoyarsk athlete won the title of World Wushu Champion for the sixth time in her career. The International Wushu Competition took place in Hong Kong, China, and attracted 1,140 athletes from 32 countries. Earlier in July, Maria Medvedeva won three gold medals at the International Wushu Wing Chun Tournament in Foshan, China.
Evgenia Zelenova wins bronze at the European Boxing Championships

The representative of the Krasnoyarsk Summer Sports Academy won bronze at the European U19 Boxing Championships taking place in Loznica, Serbia. The tournament brought together over 300 participants from 35 countries.
Evgenia placed among the top three in the 70 kg weight category. By the semifinals, she defeated Greece's Athina Pozidou and Bulgaria's Nikol Parvanova. In the semifinals, our athlete lost to Yazan Bus of Turkey and ended up running third.
