World University Underwater Robot Competition concluded in Brest, attended by more than 100 participants from Russia, China, and Belarus at the Water Sports Palace.

The Krasnoyarsk Region was represented by Team Seals, a team comprised of students and graduates of the Lyceum No.7 in the Zheleznodorozhny District. Led by Alexander Sobolev, teacher of supplementary education, the students demonstrated their engineering skills, piloted vehicles in a simulator, and completed complex technical tasks over three days (August 14–16). The Krasnoyarsk team won silver medals in the Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) category.

According to the teacher, the team's success was the result of months of dedicated preparation, during which the participants not only refined the design of their inventions, but also honed their piloting skills in conditions as close to real-life as possible. The Krasnoyarsk team was faced against strong competitors from China—teams from the Harbin Institute of Technology, who swept first and third place.

For the young Krasnoyarsk competitors, this achievement was a significant milestone in their professional development. As team mentor noted, participating in international competitions of this level allows the students to see the real-world application of their knowledge in physics, programming, and electronics, and also inspires them to create new, even more advanced engineering solutions.

In addition to the competitive portion, the programme included an exchange of experience between young engineers and industry experts.
