​​Leading Chinese travel company and travel industry media representatives visited Krasnoyarsk. The delegation arrived as part of the "Great Tea Road" familiarization tour to assess the city and region's tourism potential for a future international rail route. The route passes through seven Russian cities: Ulan-Ude, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Perm, and Moscow. Over 11 days, the participants will travel approximately 5,600 kilometers.

The regional capital offered the guests a rich activity schedule. At a meeting with representatives of the region's tourism industry, prospects for cooperation, the possibility of including Krasnoyarsk in travel programs for Chinese tourists, and expanding tourist exchanges were discussed.

The delegation took a river cruise along the Yenisei River, visited the Bobrovy Log Fun Park, and looked into the infrastructure and services available for various categories of guests.

The visit concluded with a taste of local cuisine. Elena Nedbaylo, head of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Tourism Agency, noted: "The project is being implemented amid a steady increase in interest from Chinese tourists in traveling throughout Russia and specifically Krasnoyarsk. The current visa-free arrangement between Russia and China has provided additional incentive, —simplifying travel for citizens and created conditions for joint tourism projects."

The "Great Tea Road" project is being implemented by Russian Railways Tour and the Federal Passenger Company, with the support of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Tourism Agency and regional authorities. The new international tourism product for Chinese tourists is planned to launch in 2027. The development of international tourism and the creation of new routes are in line with the objectives of the "Tourism and Hospitality" national project.
