​​Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergey Vereshchagin met with young Krasnoyarsk engineers in the Youth Centre "ProTehno". Students from Schools No. 150 and 149 won prestigious international robotics competitions held this summer in Egypt and the People's Republic of China. ​

The BEAM STUD-8 ("Балка на 8") team (Savelii Kolokolnikov, Matvei Iakubovich, Maksim Jotov Vladislav Krasnichenko, Gordei Matvienko, Andrei Glukhov) participated in the Technoxian Egypt Championship 2026 in Cairo where they competed in the Innovation Category with 80 teams from Russia, Great Britain, Colombia, Uzbekistan, Sudan, and other countries. The Krasnoyarsk team presented a practical solution for the agricultural industry and became champions. ​

Our project is a special combine harvester chopper shaft; it grinds the silage and prevents the main mechanism from clogging. We worked on this project for a year and a half. When the results were announced, we couldn't believe it; we were so happy. We worked so hard to win, and we did it.

The other winning team was the LEGACY team (Ilia Lukoshkin and Ivan Golovanets). It consisted of tenth-graders Ivan Golovanets and Ilya Lukoshkin from School No. 149. The Siberian team won gold medals in Hong Kong at the Robog Asia Cup 2026. The young engineers developed their own models and strategy for robotics games. Ultimately, they defeated the hosts in the finals. ​

I’m so proud that such young people confirm our city's status as the capital of competitive robotics in Russia. You are a shining example of talent and hard work. I congratulate you on your victory! Following the meeting, the Mayor examined the youth center's workshops, where children engage in constructing, 3D modeling, and robotics. ​​​Currently, about 300 children are studying ​in the centre, the youngest being just 4 years old.

Sergey Vereshchagin learned about the scientific projects of young Krasnoyarsk residents and proposed considering the possibility of implementing some of those projects in Krasnoyarsk.
