The XXXIV National Festival Russian Student Spring kicked off in Krasnoyarsk. Over 3,000 students gathered in the regional capital to showcase their talents.

The President of the Russian Federation sent a greeting to the participants and organisers of the event. In his address, Vladimir Putin noted that the Festival makes an active contribution to preserving Russia's distinctive traditions and cultural diversity.

— Thanks to you, Krasnoyarsk became the capital of student life and student creativity, albeit for a short time. Representatives from 80 regions and our guests from Kyrgyzstan have gathered here in the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. Through the power of creation, we can tell the unique story of each nation represented, and this language is the unified language of the peoples of Russia. May Krasnoyarsk become a place of strength for each of you. Good luck to us all!

The event's competition categories are the following: Regional Programme, Vocal, Instrumental music, Dance, Theatre, Original Genre, Fashion, Media, Video, and Art. There are in total 50 nominations, including thematic ones dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.

Russian Student Spring is the largest student-centred creative festival in Russia, held annually since 1993 and the flagship project of the program for the support and development of youth creativity. The event is part of the national project "Youth and Children" and is timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
