26.05.2026Krasnoyarsk delegation participated in the 39th All-Mongolian Book Fair "Nomyn Bayar," held under the auspices of the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh. The trip was organized at the invitation of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office and the Russian House in Ulaanbaatar.

"Nomyn Bayar" is one of Mongolia's largest cultural events, annually bringing together publishing houses, writers, librarians, and book lovers. The Russian House pavilion, where the Krasnoyarsk delegation worked, gathered several hundred guests over three days. A book exhibition was prepared for them, highlighting the history, culture, and literary heritage of Krasnoyarsk and Siberia. Visitors explored unique publications from the rare book collection of our city's first public library, looked at publications by popular contemporary Krasnoyarsk writers, and delighted in albums featuring works by artists such as V.I. Surikov, A.G. Pozdeev, and others. Creative workshops on bookmark making were held for young guests.

Tatiana Trifuntova, Deputy Director of the A.M. Gorky Centralized Library System, shared her thoughts about the experience:
— It was so nice to see great interest in our exhibition. Books and photo albums depicting life in our city sparked curiousity among both adult visitors to the exhibition and teenagers attending the workshops. The interactions with the school students were particularly memorable: they were very open and inquisitive, and enjoyed listening to stories about Krasnoyarsk and our library.

Another important mission for the Krasnoyarsk representatives in Ulaanbaatar was to hold a real awards ceremony for participants in Krasnoyarsk competitions: the 9th All-Russian Literary Competition with International Participation "Arctic Star – Umka," the city military-patriotic festival "Krasnoyarsk. Chronicle of Victory. Not Subject to Oblivion," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials, and the 5th Children's Environmental Festival "EcoTales of Roev Ruchey." Three students from the high school affiliated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Mongolia and ten students from the high school in Uliastai sum, Zavkhan Province, received commemorative souvenirs from Krasnoyarsk.

In addition to working at the exhibition, the Krasnoyarsk delegates held meetings with colleagues from Mongolian cultural and educational institutions, in particular, from the Mongolian National Library.

Yulia Goryacheva, Deputy Head of the International Affairs Division of Mayor's Department, said the following:
— We are pleased that our city was well represented at this significant international event. The 'Nomyn Bayar' fair provided an excellent platform for strengthening the friendly ties between Krasnoyarsk and Ulaanbaatar. We express our sincere gratitude to the Russian House for its assistance. The agreements reached will develop into new joint projects in culture and education.

The Russian House in Ulaanbaatar is a traditional participant in the All-Mongolian Nomyn Bayar Exhibition and Fair. Each year, its pavilion introduces visitors to contemporary Russian literature and educational projects through meetings with representatives from various regions of the Russian Federation.
