The exhibition "Mongolia: History Told by Friends" is a first for Krasnoyarsk and is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mongolia.

The organizer is the Regional Branch "Ural, Siberia and the Far East in Krasnoyarsk" of the Russian Academy of Arts with the support of the representative office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Krasnoyarsk, the Ministry of Culture of Krasnoyarsk Region and the Krasnoyarsk City Administration.
Guest of honor of the opening ceremony was Ms. Batsukh Ichinkhorloo, Consul General of Mongolia in Irkutsk. The event was also attended by Acting Representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Krasnoyarsk Denis Makin; Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Region Irina Subocheva; Head of the Department of External Relations of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Oksana Tsareva; Deputy Head of Mayor's Department - Head of the International Affairs Division Inna Dozortseva; Honorary Consul of Mongolia in the Russian Federation Evgeny Kuzmin; Vice President of the Regional Union of the Russian Academy of Arts in Krasnoyarsk Academician Mikhail Shishin; Deputy Chairman of the Regional Union of the Russian Academy of Arts in Krasnoyarsk and Candidate of Art History Elena Kopersak; and Chairman of the Krasnoyarsk Union of Artists Sergei Forostovsky.
The guests discussed potential areas of cooperation, including in the field of art and arts education, as well as events planned for 2026 as part of the anniversary celebrations.
Ms. Batsukh Ichinkhorloo greeted those who attended the event and congratulated the artists whose works were put on display at the exhibition. The central idea of the pieces presented is to present Mongolia not only as a country with unique natural beauty, but also as a close neighbor and historical ally. The curators sought to highlight the close shared historical destinies, manifested in shared struggle and mutual support, and to demonstrate the deep spiritual and cultural ties between our peoples. The exhibition opens with works by Russian artists created in 2024 during the plein air "Under the Sky of Victory" at the sites where these historic events took place.

In total, the gallery offers over 60 works by contemporary painters, graphic artists, sculptors, and photographers. The majority of the exhibit consists of portraits, landscapes, and thematic paintings inspired by the long-standing art-focused expeditions of Krasnoyarsk artists to Mongolia.
Academician Mikhail Shishin, Vice President of the Regional Branch of the Russian Academy of Arts in Krasnoyarsk, donated the album "Khalkin Gol – the Key to Victory!" to the Consulate General of Mongolia in Irkutsk. The album features original works by prominent Russian artists who participated in the plein air at Khalkhin Gol.
