Museum Night is one of the most iconic events of the Krasnoyarsk Region; in fact, the first such event in Russia took place at the Krasnoyarsk Museum Centre "Ploschad Mira" (in 2002).

This is a major modern art festival that combines exhibitions, tours, communication, and educational formats across five floors of the museum over six hours. The museum space, meanwhile, presents collections of artists directly related to the theme of the Night.

This time, the focus is on the new, gigantic, two-story exhibition "The Concept of the North," about the phenomenon of the North—from mammoths and white silence to metal, icebreakers, heroic deeds, and Person:

— Several sections, such as argysh, expedition, metal mining, city, port, ocean, air,—combine history, myths, philosophy, original installations created by contemporary artists specifically for the exhibition, and immersive experiences featuring authentic museum exhibits.

In addition to the centerpiece exhibition, you can visit other active installations: the walking exhibition "There Will Be Signs," "Long Shot" by Mikhail Levius, and the intimate "Requiem" by Viktor Sachivko.

The evening will feature art workshops, a "reverse tour" performed by the visitiors themselves, theatrical readings of polar explorers' diaries, and plays by local theatres.

The musical headliners of this Night are the St. Petersburg jazz-folk group Settlers, performing original music in symbiosis with folk traditions. However, guests will be able to enjoy musical accompaniment throughout the entire event thanks to Siberian electronic musicians who will be playing live sets in the lecture hall.
