Mayor Vereshchagin recently addressed the City Council with a full report on the work done by the Krasnoyarsk City Administration over the past year. While much has indeed been accomplished, in his report Sergey Vereshchagin focused on the Administration's priority areas for the near future:

In 2025, Krasnoyarsk significantly expanded its borders. The integration of those new territories was named one of the main development priorities. According to the Mayor, currently the Administration is already working hard on essential municipal improvements and providing the new citizens with basic access to all services and facilities.
The Administration has also been in full preparation mode for Krasnoyarsk's 400th anniversary in 2028 for a while now. A total of 239 projects and events are scheduled to be implemented in our city in the lead-up to this significant date. Some of these were already completed last year. For example, two large city parks— namely Chernyshevsky and Kirovsky Parks—were improved, not to mention the renovations of the historic centre of Krasnoyarsk.
Another key focus mentioned by the Mayor is the usage of green energy and general sustainability of the city. A whopping 150 natural gas buses have entered regular service and more are to come this year. As for the switch to eco-friendly heating for the private home area, the measures already implemented have resulted in an annual reduction in gross emissions of nearly seven thousand tons.
The city keeps up with the educational sector as well: a total of two new schools have opened their doors in 2025, six old ones have seen major renovations. Aside from schools, new day care centres and preschool facilities open every year.
Mayor Vereshchagin believes that city residents should determine the main areas of local government work. Following social media appeals, direct meetings with residents in various districts, and citizen receptions, the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk identified and named four priorities: public improvement in the broad sense of the word, development of a network of social institutions, road conditions, and local cleanup. "Our direct focus is decided by what our residents support," the Mayor emphasised.
