On March 25, the first online meeting took place between Krasnoyarsk Gymnasium No. 6 and Delta Secondary School Windhoek (Republic of Namibia). The meeting was held as part of the implementation of the Joint Activities Plan for Krasnoyarsk, Russia and Windhoek, Namibia (the Roadmap), signed on October 30, 2025.
The teleconference was attended by principals, teachers, and students from both schools, as well as representatives from the Krasnoyarsk and Windhoek administrations. The parties discussed prospects for educational and cultural exchange.
The meeting was held with the support of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Krasnoyarsk and the participation of representatives of the Embassy of Namibia in the Russian Federation.
In her opening statement, Inna Dozortseva, Deputy Head of Mayor's Department - Head of International Affairs Division noted:

The choice of Gymnasium No. 6 for the school collaboration was no accident. At Delta Secondary School, German language has a special status and is a compulsory subject: all students receive instruction in German as a foreign or native language in lessons adapted to their individual needs. Gymnasium No. 6, in turn, is known in Krasnoyarsk for its high level of German language teaching. Future interschool communication will be conducted in German, creating additional opportunities for students to practice their language skills and teachers to develop professionally.
During the meeting, the school principals exchanged welcoming remarks, stating their mutual interest in future cooperation:
I hope that our students' interactions will not only develop their German language skills but also foster a mutual understanding of the interests of their peers on the other side of the world.Sergey Semenov, Principal of Gymnasium No. 6
This partnership offers immense value. For our students, it opens a window to new cultures, ideas, and experiences. It allows them to engage with peers from different parts of the world, broadening their perspectives and deepening their understanding of global diversity. These interactions foster confidence, adaptability, and mutual respect.
For our educators, this initiative provides a valuable platform for professional collaboration. By sharing best practices, innovative teaching methods, and educational experiences, we strengthen our collective ability to provide quality education and inspire excellence.Sara F. Petersen, Principal of Delta Secondary School Windhoek
The students of Gymnasium No. 6 and Delta Secondary School Windhoek presented the sights of their cities and the educational traditions of their schools.
Meeting participants agreed on the next steps to be taken: organizing joint educational activities, implementing cultural exchange projects, and developing friendly ties between the educational institutions.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Christopher Eita, Head of External Relations and Networking at the City of Windhoek, addressed the teachers and students of both schools:
You are ambassadors of your respective schools, cities and countries. I encourage you to embrace this opportunity with curiosity and openness. Learn from one another, share your experiences, and build connections that transcend borders.
From the history of the cities' relationship:
The first step toward future cooperation was the visit to Krasnoyarsk in March 2023 of the Ambassador of the Republic of Namibia to the Russian Federation, Mr. Clemens Kashuupulwa, who participated in the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.
In July of the same year, the Krasnoyarsk City Administration participated in the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, held in St. Petersburg as part of the second Russia-Africa Summit. The Forum was attended by African heads of state, representatives of Russian, African, and international businesses and government agencies, as well as representatives of African integration associations.
In 2024, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Namibia in the Russian Federation, correspondence was initiated with the Windhoek mayor's office regarding the establishment of inter-municipal relations.
In 2025, representatives of the Krasnoyarsk City Administration held two meetings with their counterparts from the City of Windhoek: in August 2025 in Moscow as part of the IV International Transport Summit and in October 2025 in St. Petersburg on the sidelines of the International Municipal BRICS Forum, where the Roadmap for organizing interaction between the two cities was signed.
The next stage of strengthening inter-municipal ties between Krasnoyarsk and Windhoek is planned for 2026: the signing of a Cooperation Agreement.
