Twenty-eight-year-old Alexey Bugayev won bronze in the standing downhill at the 2026 Paralympics in Italy. He competed in the LW6/8-2 category (i.e. one arm impairment) and clocked 1:18.94 seconds.

Alexey is a three-time Paralympic champion. He has reached the podium dozens of times at the World Cup and European Cup. He won two gold medals at the 2014 Sochi Games and one victory during the 2018 Pyeongchang Paralympic Winter Games. Another notable thing is this is the first time in 12 years that Russian athletes are competing at the Paralympic Games with the flag and anthem.
Another prominent Krasnoyarsk athlete Matvey Yakushev went to Spain as the representative of the Krasnoyarsk Region within the Russian national team to take part in Virtus World Short Track Championship, an international competition for athletes with intellectual impairment.

The student of the Krasnoyarsk Cenre for Adaptive Sports won the long jump, clearing the 6.99 meter mark. Second place went to Thiago Ramos of Portugal (6.68 meters), and bronze went to Muhammad Arif of Turkey (6.61 meters).
In total, representatives of the Russian team won four medals at the Championship.
Back in Russia, the Ryazan Region hosted World Polyathlon Championship, bringing competitors from 8 countries. In addition to cross-country skiing, the triathlon included shooting and pull-ups.

Anton Gordienko, a representative of the Krasnoyarsk Summer Sports Academy, won the men's silver medal. He scored 296 points, just two points behind the winner, Vyacheslav Panormov from the Arkhangelsk Region. Third place went to Nikolai Zlobin from Udmurtia (289 points). The Championship concluded with men competing in team shooting and the 3x5 km ski relay. Anton Gordienko again won a silver medal as part of Team Russia 2.
