​​​The organising committee for the VI International Olympiad on Financial Security has decided to hold the finals in 2026 in Krasnoyarsk, according to the press service of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region. Up to 700 school and university students from over 40 countries will participate in the final week.

— The Krasnoyarsk Region is grateful for the trust! This autumn, we will host the finale of the Financial Security Olympiad for the second time. The roadmap has been approved, and all processes are underway. This time, we put more emphasis on the infrastructure for the event. Our top priority is engaging young people and developing financial education. The topic of financial security has already become a cross-cutting theme at our Biryusa Forum. We hope that the Olympiad participants will engage in working with our school and university students of the Region. We are preparing a rich programme to make their stay in Krasnoyarsk unforgettable.

During the meeting, Dmitry Chernyshenko and Yuri Chikhanchin supported the proposal to hold an international summer school on financial security to prepare national teams in Krasnoyarsk in conjunction with the All-Russian Youth Forum "Territory of Initiative Youth 'Biryusa'" and a winter school in the federal territory of "Sirius" concurrently with the Congress of Young Scientists—the key annual event of the Decade of Science and Technology.

Dmitry Chernyshenko also approved proposals to translate Olympiad assignments into English, Chinese, Arabic, French, and Spanish, hold an "Olympics in Colours" Festival, and hold events as part of the 2026 World Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg.

The International Olympiad on Financial Security is an annual level-one competition held since 2021 with the support of the President of Russia and the Government of the Russian Federation. The event is part of the "Youth and Children" national project. Winners and runners-up receive advantages when applying to universities.
The Olympiad finals were held in Krasnoyarsk for the first time last year. Around 600 people from 40 countries participated, five of them for the first time.
