Krasnoyarsk Mayor Sergey Vereshchagin presented plans for the transformation of the regional capital to Igor Shuvalov, Chairman of the State Corporation VEB.RF, and Svetlana Chupsheva, General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. In the coming years, the city will undergo a large-scale renovation – the program includes more than 230 measures to modernize social infrastructure and improve the city's amenities. The city, regional, and federal budgets have allocated over 200 billion rubles for these purposes.

Krasnoyarsk - the city of future, the city for people

According to Sergey Vereshchagin, the main priorities are developing the city's transportation infrastructure, reconstructing public spaces, beautification of the main streets, repairing facades, and enhancing building lighting. The city's preparation program for the anniversary also includes a major renovation of the Dmitry Hvorostovsky Opera and Ballet Theater, the construction of the Surikov Center cultural space, the implementation of the Pervykh Square project, and the restoration of 50 cultural heritage sites.

The key approaches to developing Greater Krasnoyarsk as the geographic center of Russia have received the highest level of support. These approaches are based, among other things, on social research and an analysis of resident initiatives proposed during the development of the strategic master plan through 2035. Its key areas form the basis for preparations for the 400th anniversary. We are already in the active design and construction phases. Major companies are participating in the process; 10 agreements have been signed with a total investment volume of approximately 14 billion rubles. At the same time, it is important, with the support of federal experts, to correctly determine the vector for Krasnoyarsk's further development. The city's administrative expansion through the inclusion of new territories and the increase in population opens up opportunities for agglomeration growth in many economic sectors.

Several areas are among the priorities for cooperation with the VEB.RF corporation: updating the master plan and developing new territories of Greater Krasnoyarsk, assistance and support in the development of urban planning documentation and urban development strategies, and recommendations for improving the city's rating and quality of life index.
