From January 29 to February 1, Krasnoyarsk will host the traditional international freestyle wrestling competition. This is the 37th time the competition has been held. The tournament's official motto is "The Choice of the Strong."

As of January 19, representatives from 20 countries are planning to participate in the event. For example, three current world champions and three medalists from North Korea are planning to attend. Two-time Olympic champion Kim Il-yong will lead the Korean team. Among the leaders of the Turkish team is three-time European champion and World Championship medalist Feyzullah Aktürk. Kyrgyzstan will be represented by World Championship medalist Nurzat Nurtaeva, Egypt by world vice-champion and six-time African Champion Samar Amer Ibrahim Hamza, Belarus by current European Champion Alina Shevchuk, European Championship medalist Arian Tyutrin, and others.

The first foreign participant to arrive in Krasnoyarsk is athlete from Brazil Julia Penalber. The Brazilian has won the 2023 Pan American Games, the 2020 and 2021 Pan American Championships, and the 2018 South American Games.

Among other guests of honor are three-time Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling, Hero of Russia Alexandr Karelin, Vice President of the United World Wrestling Rodica Maria Yaksi (Turkey), member of the UWW Executive Committee Razvan Pircalabu (Romania), and other renowned athletes.​
