20.01.2026Teams from Krasnoyarsk, St. Petersburg, and the Republic of Tyva won the professional competition of the anniversary Snow and Ice Sculpture Festival and Competition. The awards ceremony took place in Teatralnaya Square.

The festival participants were welcomed by Sergei Vereshchagin, Mayor of Krasnoyarsk:
— This year's severe Siberian frost didn't stop the sculptors from creating true winter masterpieces. I was delighted to hear from the participants that they were warmed by the hospitality of the Krasnoyarsk people. It's wonderful that this vibrant event kicked off the new 2026 year in Krasnoyarsk! The scale of this anniversary Festival is impressive. It was the first time it "stepped" onto our Teatralnaya Square. For the first time, it brought together 30 professional teams. For the first time, we had guests from South Korea. I look forward to seeing you again, and thank you to all the teams for the snow-and-ice wonders!

The Mayor presented awards to the winners. In the Realism genre of the Ice category, the composition "Sakura" by the IceArt team from Krasnoyarsk was recognized as the best.

The entry "Shaman's Whisper" by the Kestik team from Kyzyl won the Abstract genre. It was also chosen as the people's choice of the category.

The team has never missed a single competition in the Festival's history. For its captain, renowned sculptor Alexandr Baranmaa, whose works can be seen in museums across Siberia, the event is more than just a competition. It's already a happy tradition and a part of his life:

— We wanted to depict the idea of a shaman in abstraction, moving away from the concrete image to the essence of the ritual. Every element here is symbolic. It's not just a figure—it's an element in motion, a frozen moment of the ritual, where the shaman whispers to the spirit, their form poised to take flight like a bird. The Magic Ice of Siberia Festival is a rare venue where ice comes alive, allowing such stories to be told.
The team "No Comment" from St. Petersburg took first place in the "Snow" category. The participants were visiting Krasnoyarsk for the first time and immediately won with their sculpture "Dance".

An honorary second prize in the Abstract genre of the Ice category went to the "Angels-Skyscrapers" composition by a team from Perm, and third place went to the "Loofah" sculpture by participants from Ryazan.
The winners in the Realism nomination were "Winged Horse" (second place) by Mongolian sculptors and "Bereginya" by sculptors from Kemerovo (third place).

In the Snow category, the Krasnoyarsk team's sculpture "The Whole World in My Hands" won second place. Third place went to the South Korean team with their "Memory of the Soul" sculpture.
Sergei Forostovsky, Сhairman of the jury and Сhairman of the board of the Krasnoyarsk regional organization of the Union of Artists of Russia, congratulated the guests on the successful Festival:
— On behalf of the entire professional community, I congratulate everyone on the completion of the Festival. The participating sculptors this year are simply brilliant! I thank the Krasnoyarsk City Administration for such a wonderful event, and the jury members for their integrity.

The people's choice prizes were also won by the compositions "Taming" by the team "Inspiration" from Kyzyl and "There's No One Under the Bed" by the team "ArkhPro" from St. Petersburg/Krasnoyarsk.
