12.01.2026The winners of the 10th "Magic Ice of Siberia" Youth Festival-Competition have been announced.
The sculpture "Flute Melody" by the Tuvan debut team "Irbish" was recognized as the best. The team presented an ice sculpture of a shepherd boy riding a yak (a large long-haired domesticated ox) and playing a flute. Their work won the highest marks both from the jury and the audience (the voting was organized online).
Our sculpture symbolizes the culture of our region. We wanted to share a piece of it with the people of Krasnoyarsk. For example, the yak the boy is riding is a traditional livestock animal and a symbol of life in Tuva, so we decided to depict it.Hapylan Subudai, "Irbish" team member
The "Podyolkovye" ("Under the Fir-Trees") team from Khabarovsk won the second place. Brother and sister Daniil Abdulin and Ulyana Abdulina are still going to school, but are already continuing a family dynasty of ice sculptors. Their sculpture "Campfire Fairytales" brings up in your imagination the world of the northern fairytales, while a father in national costume tells his son a story, and mythical animals emerge from a fire.
Third place went to the "Chippchelinki" team from Krasnoyarsk. The sculpture "Tagar Deer" was created by second-year students of the Krasnoyarsk Art College named after Vasily Surikov – Arina Surzhikova and Tuyana Tumat.
Ten teams of young sculptors – students from art schools, colleges, and vocational schools – worked on their ice sculptures from January 6th to January 11th. The Award Ceremony took place on Theater Square. The winners received cash prizes of 150,000, 100,000, and 70,000 rubles.
The Youth Competition traditionally sets a high bar for the entire Festival. For talented young people, it becomes the first serious step in their professional careers. I thank all the participants for the beauty of ice sculptures they created for all citizens and guests of Krasnoyarsk.
Lyubov Sakharova, Head of the Main Department of Culture
