07.11.2025Students from Lyceum No. 1 successfully completed the educational module of the Changchun Foreign Languages School's autumn children's educational camp. The trip to Changchun, Krasnoyarsk's sister city, was made possible thanks to an educational cooperation agreement between the Krasnoyarsk Lyceum No. 1 and the Changchun Foreign Languages School.
Over the course of ten days, the students attended more than twenty lessons of Chinese, immersed themselves in the country's culture, and learned the basics of traditional Chinese medicine.
The Lyceum students studied the art of hieroglyph writing, mastered the traditional craft of jiǎnzhǐ (paper cutting), participated in intellectual team games, and went on excursions to history museums.
The program emphasized the language practice through participation in cultural events and interaction with local schoolchildren. Joint open English language and literature lessons, led by teachers from Russian and Chinese schools, also helped the students to plunge deeper into the language environment.
Such exchange program experience will be useful for our students in the future. This will be their advantage when applying to universities, especially programs with an international focus. The children will also be able to participate in scholarship programs and grants for studying in China. Of course, this also broadens their horizons and intercultural skills.Elena Kuksenko, Principal of Lyceum No. 1.
Krasnoyarsk was a frequent topic of conversation during the lessons. The students from Changchun recalled the main sights of the Siberian city, which they discovered this summer while studying Russian as part of the summer camp program at Lyceum No. 1.
Krasnoyarsk and Changchun have been cooperating for over ten years. Last year, an agreement was signed in the field of education. Such long-standing international ties allow us to shape long-term prospects, develop scientific, technical, economic, and cultural relations, and implement mutual educational exchange programs. We will certainly maintain and continue the practice of such educational visits.Inna Dozortseva, Deputy Head of the Mayor's Department and Head of the International Affairs Division
Upon completion of their educational program, the lyceum students received certificates of completion.
The trip to China was a real highlight for me. Everything was so interesting: meeting new people, practicing the Chinese language daily with native speakers, and attending master classes — I brought home a Chinese fan and a calligraphy painting. All the local students were very kind to us and helped us in class. It was a real wealth of impressions and new knowledge.Varvara Gnevasheva, a 9th-grade student of Lyceum No. 1
As a reminder, Krasnoyarsk and Changchun have been developing cooperation in trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural areas since 2010. In 2014, an agreement establishing sister city relations between the cities was signed.
