The Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Mikhail Kotyukov noted that the initiative to hold the Festival in Krasnoyarsk was suppo​rted by Vladimir Putin. “The President of  the Russian Federation entrusted us with holding the World Festival of Youth in the heart of our country. We must show that Krasnoyarsk is a really attractive city for young people and our region is one of the true leaders of youth policy implementation in Russia. Our universities are modern educational platforms that attract young people from all over Russia and abroad. Now we have this unique opportunity to present our achievements, share our plans and attract to Krasnoyarsk prospective young people. I’d like to emphasize that the number of participants of this Festival will surpass even the scale of the Universiade 2019, which was held in Krasnoyarsk. We need to build on our 2019 experience and do everything possible to help our guests feel Russia’s hospitality,” said Mikhail Kotyukov. 

The preparation has already begun. Previously, the details of the upcoming event, including security issues, transportation and accommodation for the participants, volunteer training, improvement of the city infrastructure and universities’ campuses, were discussed in the regional government. 

The Festival will offer educational, business, sport, creative and cultural programs. Delegates will take part in interactive lectures, panel discussions, various sport competitions, exhibitions, etc. The Festival opening and closing ceremonies are scheduled to be held in Platinum Arena.

The first World Festival of Youth was held in 2024 in the Sirius Federal Territory, Sochi.  It was visited by more than 20 000 guests. Following the event, Vladimir Putin announced the decision to hold the Festival of such scale every 6 years. At the same time, every 3 years Russia will hold the smaller Festival in regional capitals, among which Krasnoyarsk will be the first.
