The delegation of children arrived in Krasnoyarsk as part of the Summer International Russian Language Course. The programme of the international school is implemented thanks to the Cooperation Agreement between Krasnoyarsk and Ulaanbaatar, which are sister cities. This marks the 3rd time guests from Mongolia are welcomed within the walls of the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University with the support of the Krasnoyarsk City Administration and the Russian House in Ulaanbaatar.

First summer and winter language courses were successfully held in August 2024 and January 2025 respectively. The visit programmes focus not only on language classes, but also include events of cultural ​​activity, such as guided tours around the city, visits to our main points of attraction, youth and sports centres, museums and parks.

— We use different approaches in our Russian language classes. For example, we often teach through poems, songs or Russian folk tales, which help to form an associative flow and an understanding of the purpose of words. During class, teachers most often do not allow speaking languages other than Russian. We also often love ourselves an excursion programme, which allows the kids to get acquainted with the city and traditions, immersing them in the language environment, — says Maria Ozerova, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Practice-Oriented Learning at KrasSAU.

The official opening of the Summer School took place on the basis of the agricultural university. Since 2014, KrasSAU has had its representative office in Ulaanbaatar and has been recruiting students to study in Russia. Today, 9 people are receiving education at the agricultural university. The initiative is available courtesy of the Ministry of Education of Mongolia, as well as under a quota from the Russian Federation.

— Krasnoyarsk is interested in cooperation with cities and aimaks of neighboring and friendly Mongolia. The city of Ulaanbaatar has been our sister city for more than 20 years. One of the most fertile and promising areas of cooperation, especially now, is the field of education. The children are seriously thinking about getting an education in our city, – said Deputy Head of Mayor's Department - Head of the International Affairs Division Inna Dozortseva.

— These kids who came to Krasnoyarsk are the best Russian language students. They are determined to study in Russia and continue to get acquainted with the culture of the country, and in the future to work and live here, - shared the teacher of English and Russian languages of the secondary school No. 3 of the Sukhe-Bator aimak Lkhagvasuren Bolormaa.

As a token of gratitude for the warm welcome, the schoolchildren performed the poem "My Homeland" in Russian, English and Mongolian, and also showed a Mongolian folk dance.

The actual examples of cooperation with Mongolia are reflected in various areas of the city's life. One of the important events of 2025 was the participation of Ulaanbaatar sculptors in the professional competition of snow and ice sculptures "Magic Ice of Siberia". The Mongolian team took part in the competition for the first time and won third place in the "Snow" category. Mongolian athletes also traditionally successfully participate in the Krasnoyarsk international wrestling competition named after a famous athlete Ivan Yarygin.

Children from Mongolia also take part in Krasnoyarsk educational projects, such as the children's environmental festival with international participation "EcoTales of Roev Ruchey" and the literary competition "Umka", which are organised on the initiative of the Krasnoyarsk Roev Ruchey Zoo with the informational support of zoos in friendly countries and the support of the Krasnoyarsk City Administration. Mongolian musicians will take part in the International Festival of Chamber and Orchestral Music "Asia - Siberia - Europe"-2025 for the first time in its history.

Cooperation with Mongolia remains one of the most crucial areas of international activity of the Russian Federation.​
