18.06.2025From June 11 to 14, Krasnoyarsk welcomed a delegation from the Plovdiv Russophile Club, Bulgaria. The main goal of the event, which was a continuation of the interaction that began in 2022, was to visit memorial sites associated with the life and work of the outstanding opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky.

Dmitri Hvorostovsky earned special love in Bulgaria for his memorable performance of the war song "Alyosha", dedicated to the monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator in Plovdiv. In November 2022, Bulgarian admirers of his work organized the laying of a bouquet of white roses at the monument to the singer in Krasnoyarsk for the first time.
During the four-day visit, Penka Filipova and Stoilin Genurov, members of the delegation, delved deeply into the history and culture of Krasnoyarsk. They visited the Krasnoyarsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the G.V. Yudin Museum-Estate, and the Krasnoyarsk Railway History Museum, where special attention was paid to exhibits related to the life and work of Dmitri Hvorostovsky and the history of his family.
The key point of the programme was the Siberian State Institute of Arts named after Hvorostovsky, where the guests laid flowers at the monument to the singer and met with the head of the solo singing department, Honored Artist of Russia, professor, director of the Krasnoyarsk Foundation for the Development of Arts named after Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Ms. Baranova. During the meeting, the Bulgarian side was officially invited to take part in the celebration of the 65th anniversary of Hvorostovsky's birth, which will take place in Krasnoyarsk in 2027.
