04.06.2025On June 2, a delegation from the Changchun School of Foreign Languages was cordially welcomed at Lyceum No. 1 of Oktyabrsky district of Krasnoyarsk. The welcoming group in colorful national Russian costumes treated fifteen Chinese schoolchildren aged 16-17 and their three teachers to traditional Russian bread and salt.
The group arrived in Krasnoyarsk on May 31 and has already attended the raising of a special children's flag at the square in fron of the Krasnoyarsk City Administration on Children's Day, June 1. The Chinese children especially liked Cheburashka, with whom they took many pictures.
“We'd like to thank our Krasnoyarsk friends with all our hearts for this incredibly heartfelt welcome! It is a great honor for us to be greeted as the guests of honor, with bread and salt. We will remember the aroma of the Russian karavai, its taste with love. We are full of anticipation of the upcoming visit and are looking forward to getting to know Russian culture. We are sure that this trip will be an important step towards bringing our cities and peoples even closer together!” - shared her impressions the head of the Changchun delegation.

Lyceum No. 1 provides multilingual education. The Chinese language is taught by teachers of the lyceum and native speakers. Children study English and Chinese, as well as the culture of the countries where those languages are spoken. In addition, the educational institution regularly holds joint online lessons with the Changchun School of Foreign Languages. In November 2024, during a video conference, the directors of the two educational institutions signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of education.
It should be noted that the young guests from Changchun speak Russian and English. This provides an excellent opportunity for practice and knowledge exchange with lyceum students. Such interaction will help students from both countries significantly improve their language skills. In total, the guests from Changchun will spend 10 days in Krasnoyarsk.
“This visit is the result of a long-term partnership between our countries. The children from China will get acquainted with our culture, history and improve their Russian language skills. The program of their visit includes not only classes in our summer camp, but also excursions around Krasnoyarsk, visiting important landmarks and participating in city events," said Elena Kuksenko, director of Lyceum No. 1.
After the welcoming ceremony at the lyceum, the Chinese schoolchildren went to the Youth IT Center, where fascinating master classes awaited them. Next came a special tram tour along the right bank part of Krasnoyarsk, during which the young guests, thanks to the efforts of the Lyceum No. 11 students, learned about the heroic pages of Krasnoyarsk history during the years of the Great Patriotic War.
"The visit of this delegation is not just a tourist trip. It is aimed at broadening the horizons, improving the language skills (Russian and Chinese) of the children on both sides and strengthening friendship between our peoples. We are confident that cooperation between educational institutions will have a positive impact on the quality of education and will contribute to the development of cultural and economic ties between Krasnoyarsk and Changchun, sister cities that have been linked by friendship for more than ten years," said Marina Aksenova, Head of the Main Education Department.
It is also worth noting that this year, on May 12, a delegation from the Krasnoyarsk education sector visited China. During the visit the delegation members got acquainted with the work of the Changchun School of Foreign Languages and other educational institutions.
