About 2 thousand children and young people from 30 regions of Russia and foreign countries took part in the International Robotics Championship "Sakhalin 6.0", which was held from April 25 to 27, 2025. The main venue for the competition of young inventors was the airfield "Pushisty".

At the opening of the Championship, the director of the ANO "Robotics Laboratory "Future Engineers", the operator of international robotics competitions in Russia, Maxim Turushev, addressed the guests and participants: "Each of us dreamed of visiting the wonderful island of Sakhalin. The dream came true thanks to the government of the Sakhalin Region. We also thank our partners who will make our teams' dream of getting to international championships come true. We have three exciting days of competitions ahead and I wish everyone good luck!"

Sakhalin Region Governor Valery Limarenko noted: "We live in a modern world, and the industrial revolution cannot do without robots, our children begin to study robotics in school and prepare to enter the most sought-after specialties at university."

In 2025 the Championship was held already for the sixth time. These are the largest robotics competitions in Russia - in terms of geography and number of participants - welcoming participants from 4 to 22 years old. The Championship was held in the Russian Far East and on Sakhalin for the first time. 

The prize fund of the competition was more than 10 million rubles, and the winning teams were also awarded six ticket sets to international tournaments abroad, four laptops, four 3D printers, four tablets and a laser machine as the main prizes.

The International Robotics Championship "Sakhalin 6.0" was held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education as part of the national project "Youth and Children". The competitions are included in the recommended list of the Russian Ministry of Education, so the names of the winners and prize winners are included in the state information register "Talent and Success".

The next Championship will be held in Krasnoyarsk, the city where the Championship was born.
