About 400 representatives of 17 countries will participate in the International Wrestling Competition among men and women held from January 23 to 26. The information was made public at a press conference dedicated to the Ivan Yarygin Cup-2025.

The Minister of Sports of the Krasnoyarsk Region Denis Petrovsky said that the tournament is special in terms of the presence of honorary guests and emphasized the importance of the Cup on the federal map of sports events:

— We are opening this calendar year with a major sporting event of a national scale. The Ivan Yarygin Cup has been a true brand of the Krasnoyarsk Region. What's notable is that the tournament also occupies a serious place on the map of federal sports events. In terms of the composition of invited guests, we expect the Minister of Sports of Russia, the State Duma Committee on Sports, and also about 12 Olympic champions to join as honorary guests and spectators. In addition, three of the five vice-presidents of the United World Wrestling will be present.

Vice President of the United World Wrestling, President of the Ivan Yarygin Foundation Natalia Yarygina emphasized that in the current circumstances, the participation of representatives from 17 countries in the competition is an excellent result:

— To me, the Ivan Yarygin Cup feels like holiday. We are always looking forward to the tournament. Unfortunately, time flies very quickly. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were preparing for the anniversary 35th tournament, and now it is the 36th already. This year it is somehow special. I am very pleased that many guests are coming. Despite the sanctions, more than 400 athletes from 17 countries will come to Krasnoyarsk. What an amazing achievement!

Vice President of the United World Wrestling (UWW) Rodica Maria Yaksi from Turkey has been coming to Krasnoyarsk for the tournament since 2010 and every time she takes to time to acknowledge the high level of preparation for the competition:

— I am happy to visit again. I have been coming to Krasnoyarsk since 2010, and during this time I have missed literally only two tournaments. That is, of almost 12 years, every year we come here. This tournament is one of the largest in the world. We come here because it is a tradition for us. I want to wish good luck in the competitions to all athletes from Russia and other countries.
