The VII All-Russian literary competition with international participation "The Arctic Star – Umka" starts on December 1. 

The Competition is held by the Krasnoyarsk "Roev Ruchey" Flora and Fauna Park. Every year's is special, creative and poetic. The project is dedicated to the animals of the Arctic zone and tundra of the northern hemisphere and the symbol of the Arctic – the polar bear, as a species on the verge of extinction.

Children of preschool institutions and additional education institutions, students of general education institutions 5 to 18 years old are invited to participate in the Competition with creative works in five categories: story, fairy tale, poem, essay, and article.
