Krasnoyarsk will host the Week of Heroes of the Alaska-Siberia Air Route from November 11 to 18.

During the Great Patriotic War, 8,094 airplanes were transported via the air route from the USA to the USSR for the front. The first batch of ships landed at the Krasnoyarsk airfield 81 years ago on November 11.

  • A flash mob event titled "Runway" will take place at the square in front of the Victory Memorial Museum on November 11. Anyone can join by turning the flashlight of their mobile phone into a piece of an improvised "runway".
  • A free thematic excursion will take place at the Victory Memorial Museum on November 12.
  • Krasnoyarsk Cinema House will be screening the movie "Alsib" on November 13.
  • Krasnoyarsk residents will lay flowers at the mass grave of pilots who participated in the Great Patriotic War on November 17.

Dedicated classes will be held at schools and youth centres.

  • On November 14, the students of the school No. 150 named after Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Molokov (he was one of the first to lay the AlSib route) will play the board game "Alaska - Siberia" and watch a documentary about the route.
  • On November 18, children from all over the city will compete in meeting GTO (athletic) standards at the school No. 93 named after polar explorer Grigory Pobezhimov.

Days of Heroes, namely Mark Shevelev and Ilya Mazuruk, who headed the Krasnoyarsk air route after Vasily Molokov, are also planned.
