​The project of Svetly Park, located in the Sverdlovsky district of Krasnoyarsk, has now been presented to the whole world to see. A jury of international experts recognized it as one of the world's best innovative practices at the municipal level. The open space created for communication between every social category of residents was highly praised by the jury of the 6th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation.

The Guangzhou Award received 274 initiatives submitted from 193 cities and regions from 54 countries. Of those 274 initiatives, 45 were identified as exemplary initiatives. Of these 45 initiatives, the Technical Committee further shortlisted 15 outstanding finalists. The project from Krasnoyarsk was ultimately recognized as one of the 45 Exemplary Initiatives of the 6th Guangzhou Award.

The project's mastermind, Alyona Parfenova, is a designer and an expert in integrated space design, an associate professor at Siberian State University. The Krasnoyarsk-based environmental designer helps make the city interesting, lively, and modern. Alyona also develops projects for schools, kindergartens, and educational centres.

Svetly Park is a public space equipped with tools and landmarks for the visually impaired located in the vicinity of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The project uses multiple design approaches to accommodate the visually impaired and wheelchair users equally well. One of the main features of the Park allowing for easier spatial awareness utilized is the sensory quality of the environment.
